In 2009 I worked as a production stills photographer for a documentary produced and directed by Linda Moroney. While it was released under the title Turn the Page, it's subject was the Storybook Project, a program at the Ontario County Jail, in upstate New York where inmates were given the opportunity to record their reading children's books to young family members. Each would choose a book from a closet of new books, and sit in a room with one volunteer and a tape or CD recorder. After completing the recording, they would write a message in their chosen book, which would be sent to the child.
